HCT-2 lead bullet knurling tool applies a diamond pattern of knurling to the surface of lead bullets, so you can dip or spray lubricant onto them. The surface pattern holds more lubricant in contact with the bore than traditional grooves. The HCT-2 tool has diamond knurls on three sides of the bullet, including the roller V-way, to create sharp deep grooves. It adjusts over the range of .172 to .720 diameter, and has exact depth and position settings. The diameter of the lead bullet can be increased by adjusting the depth of the knurling, so that undersized bullets designed for paper patching can be knurled "up" to size for use with lubricant instead. Note: Although the same frame is used for the HCT-1, HCT-2, and HCT-3 tools, only the 1 and 2 (canneluring and lead grooving tools) are practical to change with just the embossing wheel. It is too time consuming and expensive to try to change all the parts necessary to shift between diamond knurling and the other two kinds of lube grooves.
